About the Role
Strikeforce is seeking a dedicated and experienced Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to join our team. This pivotal role will provide WHS advice and support across all Strikeforce companies nationally. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining our Health, Safety, and Environment Management System, while fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System
- Develop and manage WHS audit protocols and compliance programs
- Oversee workers' compensation claims and injury management processes
- Support the implementation of HR/WHS strategies across operations
- Prepare regular WHS reports for the Board and Senior Leadership team
- Coordinate effective communication of WHS initiatives and processes
- Identify and implement employee wellbeing initiatives
- Contribute to HR projects and support the People & Culture team
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, alternatively equivalent experience
- Excellent working knowledge of WHS legislation
- Experience in Return to Work processes
- Strong project management and influencing skills
- Customer-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
- High attention to detail and self-motivation
